Known Limitations

We believe in being transparent about what DisputeDesk can and cannot do.

DisputeDesk is not a law firm

All output is template-based on the information you provide. Nothing generated by DisputeDesk constitutes legal advice. You must review all outputs before sending them to customers or submitting them to dispute bodies. DisputeDesk does not guarantee dispute outcomes.

Output quality

  • Outputs are template-driven. They are professional and structured, but not personalised beyond the data you provide.
  • Shipping policy accuracy depends entirely on what you paste into the policy field. Always paste your real policy.
  • Carrier tracking information is not automatically fetched. You must enter tracking status manually.
  • Evidence packs are structured for readability. Whether a specific payment processor accepts them depends on their requirements. Check before submitting.
  • The product does not read your email inbox, Shopify admin, or any external system.

Data and storage

  • Without an account, cases are saved in your browser (localStorage) and are lost if you clear browser data.
  • Cloud saved cases require a logged-in account and Supabase to be configured. Check the /account page for status.
  • PDF export is not yet available. Use Markdown or TXT export for now.
  • There is no team collaboration yet. One account per workspace.

Scenarios and tones

  • 12 dispute scenarios are available. Scenarios outside this list require manual adaptation of the output.
  • 6 tones are available. Highly specialised communication styles may need manual editing.
  • DisputeDesk is built for ecommerce merchants, primarily in English-speaking markets. Templates may need adaptation for other legal jurisdictions.

Lifetime deal limitations

  • Monthly case limits apply to all lifetime tiers. Lifetime means no subscription payment, not unlimited usage.
  • Features marked 'when released' (PDF export, team seats, policy vault) are not available yet but are included in your tier when they launch.
  • Lifetime access covers the features and limits of the tier purchased. Enterprise features, API access, and white-label rights are not included.
